Yoga SoulPlay: A Vinyasa & Restorative Play-date with Your Body Heart & Soul

In this four-week, 8 class,  Vinyasa Flow & Restorative Yoga Series, we will allow ourselves the space to feel our true nature through soul-centered yoga play. Each week we will dive-into a different yoga-related theme- and experience the theme through a holistic practice that includes intelligent and exploratory sequencing, alignment workshopping of the postures, focused breath-work, dynamic meditation techniques, deep restoration, group ceremony and sharing.

FLY!: The Art of Arm Balancing & Inversions

In this 4 class series we practice taking the mystery and fear out of arm balancing and inversions by exploring the postures from the inside out. With breath and bandha, or the energy locks of the body, we learn to untie internal knots (granthis) and seal our energy to access inner vitality, fortitude and a lightness to help us FLY.

Week 1: Mulabandha: The pelvic floor to the core and out the arms: crow, side crow and variations
Week 2: Jalandara bandha: Open throat open-hips: Eka Pada Koundinyasana and Ashtavrakasana variation

FLY Fusion:

Yoga, Soulful Fitness and Mindful Movement
A Yoga and Fitness Play-Date with Sherry Sidoti

A barefooted high-energy practice created by FLY founder Sherry Sidoti. This signature FLY program takes you through a series of yoga postures, strengthening with free weights, balancing exercises, safe functional movements, all while grooving out to great music from around the globe. Fun for all. Who says play-dates are just for kids?

In this workshop, we will begin with a 60 minute FLYfusion class, experiencing the key movements of the practice, followed by a short sharing and discussion about some of the principals behind the practice and alignment cues. If the host would like, we could then follow up with a 30-45 minute class building, so that participants of the workshop can develop a home practice suitable for their personal yoga-fitness goals.

 

Fanning the Flames of Your Inner Fire: Core Vinyasa

Everyone might be a candle, but not everyone is lit!

A yoga practice devoted to our core muscles and our core essence-our internal fire. The yogis call this fire Agni, and it resides deep in the pit of our belly, and helps us digest not only our food, but our life experiences – drawing out nutrients and learning to let go of waste.

In this workshop we will begin with focused breath work intended to stoke the fire, followed by heat generating sun salutations, emphasizing core awakening as well as twists and back bends to warm up from the inside out. We will then come down to the mat for a deep “get into your core” sequence that targets the deeper core muscles, finishing with kriyas, or cleansing techniques intended to help release long held granthis, or knots. You will leave this workshop feeling most centered, strong and deeply empowered, and free from much of the “gunk” that we hold onto as layers of protection. Unleash your inner power and become the fully expressed YOU that you can be!

Creative Fire: A Yoga Workshop to Reconnect with Your Inner Muse

By the nature of our being, we are all creative. Through us the divine energy of life flows or is checked. Yet most of us live as we believe we must or should, not as we wish we could. Yoga is the perfect entry point to the creative process. As we practice, we connect to the present moment, our breath, to that which lives in our hearts, and to our truest, creative selves.

In this workshop, we will explore yoga postures that allow the the body, spirit and mind to experience a certain level of positive tension which help to produce a living creative fire. Through the use of postures, breath work, visualization and some discussion, we will mine through our interior landscapes for the luminous image, idea or vision that wants to manifest through each of us.

This workshop is designed for those interested in reconnecting to their creative fire. You do not need any prior yoga experience, just a simple willingness to listen within and an openness to express what you find. The real art is in living.

Celebrating Your Spirit, finding home. A Journey through Your Energy Centers- Chakra Vinyasa

This workshop series takes you through the seven energy centers of the body, known as the Chakras. We will explore posturing, pranayama and meditation techniques that will help to establish a free flow of balanced energy in these centers. Come together on the path towards your true nature-unleash your grounded, creative, powerful, compassionate and playful self. Free your unique rhythm, instincts, breath, power, compassion and strengths. Explore the personal limitations that have you stuck, and address and nurture them with kindness – moving to set you free.

Experience a purification of the body and mind; calling your spirit home. This workshop is designed for those who are interested in reconnecting to their inner Selves. You do not have to have any prior yoga experience, just a simple willingness to listen within and an openness to express what you find.

The above workshop can be split into three workshops, with the intent to go more in depth.

Workshop One: 2 hours: Chakra Vinyasa: All levels: Together we will use our yoga asana practice as a springboard for gaining an overall understanding of the seven chakras in the subtle body and how they relate to our overall physical, mental and emotional well-being, including what helps to open and free the chakras, as well as what blocks us. We’ll play with posturing, mantra and some visualization to help free the centers, clearing stale energy and allowing for ourselves to flow freely and with grace.

Workshop Two: 2 hours, Earth Water and Fire: In this workshop we will explore the first three chakras, that begin at the base of the spine and continue to the core center. These centers are about security, being grounded, tapping into our creativity and being in the flow of life, our emotional holdings and release, and self-esteem, confidence and willpower. We will explore these three chakras through grounding and standing postures, hip opening and deep core strength:  from sole to soul, earth; sand down the edges and find flow, water; inner agni activating core strength, fire. Additionally we will use the lower three chakra activation to move towards heart opening postures, including some backbends.

Workshop Three: 2.5 Hours, The cage is not locked: learning to FLY and Soar: In this third workshop we will emphasize the fourth chakra, the heart center, as the base for connecting with our higher three chakras, which bring us towards the more ethereal connection to spirit. During the asana practice, we will free the chest, shoulders and upper back and explore back-bending postures, cultivating compassion in the heart center. We will play with our 5th chakra communication center with breath, song and vibration, as well as opening the upper chest, and the front and back of the neck and throat,  as a mechanism for claiming and speaking our truth. We might play with some inversions, arm balances and other fun yoga “party tricks”, yet all with the intention to cultivate a quiet seat and a quiet mind, to fully dive into the 6th and 7th chakra of inner guidance and connection to Self, or Spirit. We will wind down the weekend with calming pranayama and meditation to help us balance out our energy, connect deep within, and call our spirits home.

Moving and Breathing through Labor and Delivery: A Partner Workshop

This 2 and one half hour workshop explores some basic principles of natural childbirth, specifically how we can use breath and movement to relax and open the body to the process of labor and delivery of your baby. We explore partner positioning and breath-work helpful in labor and hands-on comfort measures for contraction coping, giving the non-pregnant partner an opportunity to be most involved in the labor and delivery.

Mamaste: Yoga for Pregnancy, Labor and Delivery

2 hours: Safe and effective posturing, breath-work and relaxation techniques to alleviate some common discomforts of pregnancy and to prepare the body and spirit for your upcoming labor and motherhood. In this class we tone the muscles most weakened and stretch the areas most stressed during the childbearing year. We allow the space to share your experience with other new moms-to-be, and shape a supportive community needed during this precious time in your life.

Mantra-Vinyasa: Evoking Sacred Sound with Vinyasa Yoga to Divinize the Body, Raise Consciousness & Vibration

Mantra is a powerful and ancient practice used to guide the mind from chatter and distraction back into balance, and for connecting to the calling of the heart.  In this soulful, fluid and dynamic workshop, we will practice vinyasa yoga coupled with singing bija (seed) mantras, invocations, and relevant sacred mantras. We will experience the deep cellular resonance of the sound vibrations, invoking the primordial energy that is found in each yoga pose as we re-balance our internal energies – all creating an effect that is profoundly healing and harmonizing for the body, mind and spirit. No experience in yoga or mantra singing necessary. Just a willingness to be open and collaborate.

broga® Yoga for Men Workshop
Workshop with Robert Sidoti

Get the benefits of yoga, without the intimidation. In this friendly guy’s approach to yoga, it’s okay if you can’t touch your toes. Come practice postures that stretch and open the body and tap into your strength and power from a dude’s point of view. Robert’s natural laid-back personality, his fun use of language and excellent music playlists, his signature “bro” moves such as push-ups and Hindu squats make for a challenging but fun,  thoroughly relate-able, and deeply energizing practice. All levels welcome.

MAMAste: Yoga for Expectant Mom & Baby to-be in a Mixed Class Setting
with Sherry Sidoti, E-RYT, Labor Doula: DONA International
Designed to compliment yoga teacher training courses, or as a stand alone for yoga teachers who serve pregnant women in their mixed classes, and all moms-to-be.

To be pregnant is to be vitally alive, thoroughly woman, and undoubtedly inhabited.~Anne Buchanan & Debra Klingsporn

In this workshop, we will begin with a sample prenatal yoga practice followed by a discussion and hands-on yoga play; deepening our understanding of the pregnancy experience through the lens of the Pancha Koshas, or 5 sheaths of Self. Together, we will explore safe and effective posturing, modifications, and hands-on assists for pregnant mom and baby, breath-work, sound and relaxation techniques to calm, strengthen and empower mom-to-be, alleviate some discomforts and uneasiness common during pregnancy, and prepare the body, mind, heart and spirit for upcoming labor and motherhood. We’ll discuss helpful tips for welcoming pregnant women in your mixed classes, including cultivating safe space and a culture of welcome for mom and baby, and the benefits that non-pregnant students can experience by having a MA-to-be in class.

The Money-Spirituality Conundrum: Exploring the energy of money and our union with our business. For professionals in the Healing Arts (yoga, bodywork, self-help, wellness, health & healing industry)

For many professionals in the wellness and spiritual development fields, it is difficult to balance our business needs with our spiritual beliefs about helping others and healing. For many of us, the conundrum between personal/professional finances and spirituality/healing presents us with a business model that leaves us overworked and under-earning, competing with our colleagues for clients, and undermining the parts of ourselves that brought us into the healing arts in the first place.

We believe that this model is not only a disservice to ourselves, to our clients, as well as our colleagues  but to the industry as a whole. If we are not taking care of our own needs, put quite simply, we can not help others.

In this workshop we will explore “The Yoga of Business”– diving deeper into our feelings of money, our relationship to finances, and our own spiritual principals about money and abundance. Additionally we will offer practical tools for mapping the ins and outs of your current financial situation and business, and outline tools to revaluate both. We will then use what we discover to help one another form a stronger community of healers and work towards developing a new, personal and nurturing ‘take-home” business model to move your business and life.
