“You’ve got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down.” ~Annie Dillard
We are all here on earth for a purpose, each with an array of unique gifts to share with the world. To connect to what these are, we often feel we need to do more or become improved versions of ourselves. Imagine if who you are at this exact moment is enough, and just as you should be? Imagine if all that were needed for your realizing your healthiest, happiest life were not to “work on” yourself more, but to simply “be yourself” more?
The great Walt Whitman spoke on all our behalf,
“Do I contradict myself? (Very well then, I contradict myself). I am large. I contain multitudes”.
Sometimes we need help realizing that our habits, thoughts and self doubt are in fact our biggest obstacle, preventing us from knowing that all we need is already within–and even these parts of ourselves are part of our beauty. The gift is in knowing that once we can accept ourselves fully, as light and dark, we can change.
We do not “do” yoga. Yoga does us. Better yet, it “undoes” us.
